Shane Carlson

Shane Carlson was born and raised in the cult of Scientology. Although he left the cult physically when he was 26 years old, it would take almost 20 more years before he would leave the cult mentally. This blog offers his occasional thoughts on why it took him so long.

In Hubbard Communication Office Bulletin of 29 July 1963 entitled Scientology Review, L. Ron Hubbard said “Incredulity of our data and validity: this is our finest asset and gives us more protection than any other single thing. If certain parties thought we were real we would have infinitely more trouble.”

It is Shane’s hope that this blog will tarnish Scientology’s “finest asset” so that we can all give the cult “infinitely more trouble” than it has ever before experienced.
